FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance, however, “out-of-network” mental health services may be covered in part or in full by your health insurance plan. If you are seeking insurance reimbursement, I can provide monthly superbills for you to submit to your insurance provider. Please note that you will be responsible for payment at the time of service. I encourage you to check your coverage carefully to see if you receive out-of-network benefits. You may consider asking your provider the following questions:

Do I have "out-of-network" mental health insurance benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
What is my "co-insurance"?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per session?
Is approval required from my primary care doctor?

Are there benefits to paying out of pocket?

Definitely! Insurance companies mandate a diagnosis, oversee your health records, and may seek access to your information while in therapy. They also may limit your coverage to a set number of therapy sessions per year, regardless of what you're going through. When considering the implications of using insurance, paying out-of-pocket is a better fit for some. Please feel free to contact me to further discuss any questions you may have about this.

What are your rates for sessions?

My session fee is generally set at $180/session for individual sessions and $220 for couples sessions. A sliding fee scale based on income may be considered for clients experiencing financial hardship. Please reach out for more information.

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes! If coming into the office is not convenient or doable for you at this point, I offer virtual sessions for residents of New York.
